Weekly Check-in #14

 What I've been Writing:

Pretty much no writing happened for me this week, sorry.  I didn't even get my story's document file opened. I've been so busy, my brain feels full! I mean, there was one point at 2:30am on Thursday night that I couldn't sleep, and I wrote a few lines of dialogue on my phone's note app. (One of those lines being, "You really shouldn't have made her cry," for the story Day Robber.) But that was it.

What I've been Reading:

Welp. I finished reading Book 6 of the Tommen series by Chloe Walsh (Releasing 10), and it was brutal and agonizing, smothered over a healthy layer of depressing and hopeless with a slight aftertaste of just plain sad. If you like getting your guts ripped out through your nose, and not really put back together again, then this book is for you!

Then I started on Hopeless Hunter (aka Crimson Moth) by Kristen Ciccarelli. Every scene with Gideon and Rune together just crackles with electricity. I'm loving it.

What I've been Buying:

This week, I bought A Curse Carved in Bone at Books-a-Million, and I received The Dragon Republic in the mail.

Weekly Check-in #13

 What I've Been Writing -

Day Robber (which used to be Dearest Thief) - I had a really good writing day at the beginning of the week, and I thought—wow—I was going to gets a lot of words in, but then the rest of the week turned into chaos in real life, so it ended up being just a regular week in my writing endeavors. But we're making progress and are now at 72,000 words written. I have a feeling I'm not going to get as much of the story told in the first book as I wanted to.  But we shall see. The first 19 chapters are completed.

What I've Been Reading -

I'm just plugging right along with the Boys of Tommen series.

I finished reading Book 4 (Redeeming 6) and then zoomed through Book 5 (Taming 7).

My daughter was still working on Book 6 by that point, so I was going to read something else while I waited on her, and also because she kept putting the book in the corner and telling it that it needed to think about what it had done, so I was also a bit intimidated to start.

But then the kid said I couldn't start anything else while I waited, and I had to read the sixth book next because if she read it, then I had to.

And I was all like, "You can't tell me what to read," and she shot back, "Yes, I can." And I was like, "Damn, she really can." This girl totally has me wrapped around her little finger. But anyway, she finished Book 6 yesterday, and yes... I have started it. Pray for me!

What I've been Buying:

This week, my book haul is one book. But she's a beaut!  Check out The Robin on the Oak Throne. I shared my unboxing of it on TikTok if you want to see the endpaper and hard case. https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTj7j6j2K/

Weekly Check-in #12

 What I've been Writing:

Day Robber (formerly known as Dearest Thief) - 63,000 words written!  I have the first sixteen chapters completed.

Zero Chance - Just thought I'd mention that it's RELEASE DAY for my baby!  Happy exposure to the world, Keene and Waverly. For more information about how you can get your hands on their story, here is their webpage.

What I've Been Reading:

So I'm fully immersed in the Boys of Tommen life right now.

-Finished reading Book 2 (Keeping 13) this week. **Love Johnny!  #SuperDreamySigh**  Seriously. When he steals Shannon's little brothers for the day? How could I not adore this boy?

-And I finished reading Book 3 (Saving 6) as well. Joey and Aoife are extremely intense.

So now I'm working my way through Book 4.  There's just something about drug addiction that makes my heart hurt. It makes everything feel so hopeless and lost. But I can't stop reading it. It's just... Captivating. It'll all be okay in the end with a happily ever after, though, right? RIGHT?!!!

What I've been Buying:
