My daughter's birthday is less than two weeks away, so I've been ordering presents online for her because I hate to go out shopping. They're piling up in our closet. The other day she got disgusted with all the waiting and said, "I want UPS to bring a box I can open NOW, not on my birthday."
To which I gave in, of course, and we ordered something she wanted and could open as soon as it arrived. You'll never guess what she asked for, though. A jack-in-the-box. I didn't even realize she knew what a jack-in-the-box was! But we found one on Amazon (a really cute very-hungry-caterpillar jack-in-the-box), and now she's waiting for that to arrive!
In writing land, I'm kind of playing the waiting game myself! Waiting for word from my publisher on my Granton University 2 book to find out what step to take on that next. And I'm waiting for beta readers to get back to me about To Professor with Love. Those edits will happen in February/March, I think.
Oh, and speaking of To Professor with Love, I have a cover reveal set up with Tasty Book Tours to come out March 7th! And Tasty will also be handling its virtual book tour in May, when it releases! So if anyone want to be a part of either of those, I'd be totally okay with that!! (just clink on the Tasty names for the links!)
This would be a great time for me to get started writing another book, so...I wondered if I should do Granton U book 3, or Forbidden Men book 3. But nope, I've had requests for a story about Cassie and Keller from Delinquent Daddy (which came out way back almost four years ago). So I'm going to see where that takes me.
Do all you authors out there writing series books have to write them in order one-after-another, or do you need breaks between each one to regroup and re-plan. I'm beginning to think I'm a re-grouper myself.
And that's what's been up with me lately! How about you?
Forbidden Men Series

I finished writing another story last week!!! I’m so excited.
This one is titled To Professor, with Love. And I have a cover for it that I’m 99.9% satisfied with, so you’ll probably be seeing that one of these days soon.
The sad news is, two paperbacks were harmed in the making of this novel. In one scene, an overzealous bubble bath leads to the drenching of one book. I know, it was just awful.
In another scene, our overzealous hero (yes, I’m totally blaming over-zeal on both instances) tosses another book over the side of the bed, bruising it’s poor, innocent spine. But we’ll choose to forgive said hero for that one since he more than makes up for it to the heroine afterward!
Aside from all the novel torture, I think it’s a story new adult romance fans will enjoy! Plus I added some characters from Price of a Kiss in it, making it Book 2 in the Forbidden Men series. I have at least three more Forbidden Men story ideas to write after this one! So if you like Pick, Ten, and Quinn in To Professor, with Love, then yay! They should be getting a story too.
But for now, I think I’m off to work on Book 3 in the Granton University Series.
So, what’s up with you guys??

Hi! I'm back from my Christmas/New Year's break I didn't even know I was going to take from blogging! But I didn't have much to say. Do you ever just feel like blah, where nothing inside you feels like it could possibly be interesting? So you just vegetate and do nothing.
Well, I think I just broke free from one of those slumps! I read some good, energizing books (God love a good book!), hung out with some friends, lost a couple Uno games, and now I'm back in action.
This year, I know I can look forward to Book Two in the Granton University series coming out. This will be published by Omnific Publishing. It's Tess's story, and the title I came up for it was Loving Lies, but I have a feeling that's going to change. We'll see!
I'm also 70,000 words into writing To Professor with Love. I came up with a new cover for it that I like best so far. But knowing me, that may change too! I know, I'm so fickle.
I've also had a total of five--wow, five--people order book covers from my new cover designing venture. So I'm jazzed about that.
It's been cold here. It was -10 degrees Fahrenheit as I drove to work this morning. But now it's a balmy one degree. I'm starting to sweat a little in all my layers!
My kiddo has been going stir crazy, cooped up inside where it's warm. She's even played her way through all the toys she got for Christmas, if you can image that. And it's my hubby's birthday tomorrow, except he's already discovered his gift and gotten to play with it, which happens every year. I swear, one of these years, I'm going to surprise him. I am!
And...that's what's up with me. Lots to be grateful for from last year, and a lot to look forward to this year! What's been up with you?
