My Shelf-ish Week #70

 What I've Been Writing: 

Holy shit; I think I finished this manuscript. I mean, I know there are two scenes that need major changes before I start going back through it from the beginning, but I'm calling it anyway. Rough draft complete. Night Giver done. And it only took 180,400 words. Now, I need a drink.

What I've Been Reading: 

AND...I actually finished reading a book this week too!  So I wanted to do a title challenge through the month of October. Halloween, spooky, skeletons, bones.  Ergo, I was going to read only books with titles that start with the word Bone. Because I think titles that start with Bone sound cool as hell. Except I'm running a little behind because I was waiting to finish writing that rough draft. But I finally have my first Bone book complete.  I really enjoyed Bone Year.  Need the next book in that series already!

After pooling all my birthday money I raked in from my hubby, mother-in-law, and boss, I got a whole heap of new book goodness. I got:

My Shelf-ish Week #69

 What I've Been Writing:

Welp, I'm still not done with the rough draft for Night Giver, but I am very near the end of the big finale scene.  So from here on out, it's the conclusion, tying up loose ends, and giving a sneak peek into the rest of their lives.  There are 167,000 words in the rough draft right now, but I have a bunch of partial scenes that I wrote and just put at the end because I wasn't sure if they'd stay or not. And I'm thinking they won't, so I'm sure they'll be sliced off before too long here. Still... This is probably the longest book I've ever written, and it's gonna need a lot of editing.

What I've Been Reading:

I'm still holding off until I finish writing the rough draft for Night Giver before I'm allowing myself to read again, but I'm really itching to pick up a new book, especially with all the cool book hauls I've been getting lately.

What I've Been Stacking on My Shelves:

This week, I received two books from FairyLoot: Light Wielder and The Sweetest Fiend.  Then my pre-order of Threshing Day arrived.  And my kiddo gave me Dawn of the Cursed Queen for my birthday.  But, ooh, I ordered a whole heap of stuff with my birthday money, so you just wait and see what comes in on my next updates.  There will be lots and lots of goodness soon.
